Kitchen Gardening
In 2013, we took our new vegetable patch to a new level and engaged with a Kitchen Gardening program run by Kelle Nye. Students have the opportunity to cook produce from the garden, learning about healthy eating and the benefits of cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Students then sit and eat together, taking the opportunity to sample a huge variety of new tastes and textures. Alongside the cooking, students are exposed to Art, Science or cultural aspects of the food that they cook. This program has been highly successful and sustainable.
