Technology
Our school enjoys an abundance of technological provision to support teaching and learning in the classrooms. These include Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom, two computer suites with Windows desktop machines and 1:1 capacity for iPad use.
Our focus is on the use of technology as a tool for learning and we retain a good balance of operating platforms to ensure that students are familiar with all options and therefore capable of making the best choices for their purpose.
We view ICT as a means to ‘value add’ to the Heathfield learning experience. Rather than ICT driving learning, which can be the case in other schools, we utilise ICT as a tool to support self and peer reflection in accordance with our Assessment ‘for’ learning beliefs. It is important to us that technology works for our students in a complementary manner contributing to their development into well-rounded and technologically aware students.
