At Heathfield Primary students have many opportunities to be involved in a wide range of sporting activities beyond those covered as part of the curriculum.

Small Schools Sports Day
- SAPSASA (football, netball, volleyball, cricket, soccer and cross country)
- Heathfield High School Volleyball carnival
- Sports Clinics
Annual events include a combined Sports Day with other local schools, Education Dept Swimming program for R-3 students, 2-day Aquatics program for year 4 and 5 students, Aquatics Camp for year 6 students and numerous sporting carnivals throughout the year.

SAPSASA Cross-country
Instructional sports clinics are held for all students, facilitated through the Sporting Schools grants, and is conducted by specialists in their sport. The sports vary from year to year and can include sports like Ultimate Frisbee giving students an opportunity to try and develop skills for a new sport.
